The central park in the city of Leon.
Dwight was well cared for after spraining his ankle. For the rest of the day different kids took turns holding the ice on his foot, what a humbling experience.
Me and my little name sake born March 5!
Dwight being assisted by Claudia, a friend in Leon, after twisting his ankle playing soccer.
Josh, hanging out with kids in Leon.
There is a new well at Dolores' church in Leon. They cannot drink the water only use it to wash and for the bathroom. The well is hand dug and 100 feet deep, it is AMAZING! What an amazing opportunity to understand what it is like to have to work for your water! We took turns pulling up the 5 gallon bucket ~ not easy! Understanding this makes it easier to understand the woman at the well and why only the outcasts would go at the hottest time of the day. Clean water is such a gift! Later that day I walked with a woman to a location to fill another 5 gallon buck with drinking water, 2 blocks away.
Women in Nicaragua (and probably most of the world) have the best arm muscles! Between washing clothes and drawing water....... i'm considering getting a well, I already have a wash basin at my house and attempt to wash towels.
Maggie, Kimberly and Payton ~ we had lunch at a favorite pizza restaurant in Granada.
We love the monkeys in Granada! It was Dwight's first time to meet them.
Our Edmonds team loving and praying for the kids at HAT, a government run temporary housing for kids from abusive homes or off the streets.

He is a light to all who know him and such a gift to so many!
Hi McGrew family. It's wonderful to hear about your adventures and see pictures. We miss you all. You are in God's hands and He has amazing plans for you.
ReplyDeleteKatie, that is great that you got to hold little Katie (I'm sure it's spelled differently). What a cutie!!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Love and God bless,
I love seeing these pictures and seeing the love that you have for the people of Nicaragua -- and how you love them with God's love.
